What data Nordeau collects from website visitors.
Nordeau collects information from all visitors to the website. This information is provided by their behaviour, browser, cookies, and internet service provider. This data is anonymous and only viewed in aggregate with other visitors’ data. We will refer to this data as anonymous passive data from this point forward.

Nordeau places forms within multiple pages throughout nordeau.com, where users can submit and send data to the company. This data does identify the person submitting it and can and will be viewed individually. We will refer to this data as personally identifiable information from this point forward.
Only the employees of Nordeau can view personally identifiable information in the course of their work, as well as the service providers listed later in this document.
If someone who has submitted information through a form becomes a customer, Nordeau may share this information with other service providers through the course of providing service. Please see our terms of service for more information on customer data.

Nordeau allows comments on its blog posts. Visitors are asked to submit personally identifiable information to post a comment, but this information can be pseudonymous if a user does not want to provide their personal information.
Information requested from visitors attempting to comment is:
- Email Address
- IP Address
- Browser User-Agent String
Note: If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Why Nordeau collects data.
Nordeau aims to provide the best experience to our website visitors, potential customers, and customers. In the service of that aim, we continually adjust and personalize our website content products and services using the data we collect.
Nordeau uses the anonymous passive data it collects from website visitors to improve the experience on the website. Nordeau will add, remove, move, or modify the content of pages based on behavior patterns in the anonymous passive data.
Nordeau uses the personally identifiable information users submit to contact them regarding products and services they might be interested in. Nordeau also uses this information to personalize proposals and quotes for services.
Nordeau collects information from visitors submitting comments to identify themselves as the commenter. The name and website users submit are published along with their comment for all future visitors to see. Commenters can store their information with Nordeau in order to post future comments more easily. This allows readers to weigh the credibility of the commenter, as well as personalize their response if they choose to write one.
How Nordeau uses this information.
Nordeau views anonymous passive data with Google Analytics. This tool allows us to identify trends and highlight problems with the website.
Nordeau views personally identifiable information with a Hubspot CRM, a customer relationship management software program. This tool allows Nordeau to respond to customer service requests and market products and services in a timely and personalized way. Personally identifiable information may also be viewed in Google Workspace apps such as Google Mail (Gmail).
Nordeau views data provided by commenters within WordPress, a website content management software program, as well as what is published on Nordeau.com.
If you leave a comment on our website, then you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.
Who Nordeau shares data with.
Nordeau shares data with a few authorized partners to facilitate the functions of the website and assist our customers. These third parties are:

Nordeau provides anonymous passive data to Google through its Google Analytics service. Personally identifiable information may also be shared with Google as Nordeau uses Google Workspaces for email, documents, and storage.

Nordeau provides data about commenters to Automattic through their Gravatar and Akismet services.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.
After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Storage of personal information, data breach disclosures, and limits of liability for lost or stolen data.
Nordeau takes all reasonable precautions to transmit and store personal information in a way that is not accessible to any third party. Through encryption and other security measures, only employees of Nordeau and authorized third parties have access to the data.
Unfortunately, with the nature of exploits, hacks, and malicious actors, Nordeau cannot and does not guarantee that the data will never be accessed by a third party. Nordeau is not responsible for any damages that result from the actions of malicious actors that have gained access to data. If Nordeau has information that indicates an incident of unauthorized access to personally identifiable information, then Nordeau will contact all those individuals by email and post a disclosure of the incident on our privacy disclosure page within five business days of discovery.
Nordeau is not responsible for any damages resulting from the loss or deletion of data from our databases. It is your responsibility to back up any data Nordeau stores for you that you cannot afford to lose.

Options for opting out of marketing, or exporting/removing your data from our database.
Nordeau does not offer a way to opt-out of anonymous passive data collection. Continued use of the site is considered consent of collection of this data. Nordeau also does not offer removal of anonymous passive data; we cannot comply with requests for removal because we have no way of tieing the person requesting the removal to the data records because the data is anonymized.
If you have submitted personally identifiable information through a form on Nordeau and no longer want Nordeau to email you, then you can click the unsubscribe button for any of our correspondence. You can also reply to the email and say “opt-out” or “unsubscribe,” and you will no longer hear from us. Note that either of these options removes your data from our database; by law, we keep a record of people who have opted out on a “do not contact” list.
If you would like Nordeau to export a data file of personably identifiable data regarding you or remove your data from our database entirely, then email Nordeau’s privacy officer at firstname.lastname@example.org. To ensure Nordeau does not disclose other people’s data to third parties, only requests that come from the email address associated with the record will be complied with.
If you would like to remove a comment that you previously published on Nordeau.com, and you created a user account, then you have the option of deleting your comment acter logging in. If you did not create a user account, then please email the site administrator at email@example.com with details of the comment (post URL and content) you would like to be removed and proof that you are the author of the comment (IP address or access to the email address associated with the comment).
